Relationship with God ?
Have you ever thought of who you really are?
God said that He took dust from the Earth and formed man in His image. He then proceeded to breathe into that image His breath of life. The resulting creation was that man became a living soul. Gen 2:7
That is a striking statement. Note that the Bible did not record that man became a living being. By this statement I surmise that that heap of dust became alive because in that dust is embedded the breath of God. In other words, you are the breath of Life that God breathed into that dust; your body.
Now, if that life is the breath of GOD, then it is immortal. It will not die. Since it will not die and the physical form that GOD created in his image will die Gen 2:16-18 , then what will happen to the living Soul?
The soul therefore, being of the spirit, interacts in the material world through the body that GOD formed. When that body wears down and returns to the Earth the Soul is left in limbo. Or is it? Hard as it may seem to comprehend, the you or me still exist; although in the spirit world.
Ever had a dream in which you are trapped or being suffocated or being pursued and you can't seem to outrun your pursuer? You jump out of your sleep in a sweat. You are terrified for that moment and avoid returning to sleep right away.
Take that as an example of what you will experience when you die. Only this time you do not have a body to get back into.
You are now in eternity. If you knew God and His Son Jesus Christ you have no problem. You will be on your way to Heaven where angels will rejoice as they welcome you.
On the other hand, if you did not know God, who is going to receive you? Where will you go? Remember your anguish in your dream? That's how you will feel. Only this time it will be perpetual.
This is where Heaven and hell comes into play. Sin has corrupted the soul rendering it unfit to enter the domain of God. Without sin man may still have existed in the Garden of Eden. But through sin man's existance is forever cursed. Hence our souls are shut out from Heaven where it really belongs in the presence of God. Which leaves one other place for the Soul... Hell or damnation.
This is the reality of our relationship with God our Father. It is not a question of you being accepted by God our Lord. You already have a part of God in you. HIS BREATH is what makes you YOU. When you die your soul which is HIS breath, should return to GOD, who is the giver of life. Unfortunately, that is not how it actually is. SIN is the reason for us being shut out from God. So we are in torment for all eternity.
But I thank GOD that He has made a way out of this dilemma. Because of HIS love for us and because He knows that we can't save ourselves He gave his only Son to come among us in the form of mankind to lay His life down as a sacrifice so that we can be redeemed unto GOD. John 3:16
Every day that the sun rises and we can bebold its brilliance we are reassured that there is nothing to be afraid of because it was only a dream. But one day we will never see the sun again. That is the day that we must be prepared for.
Do not leave for tomorrow what you aught to do today. One man got such a windfall one time that he began making plans for the construction of new warehouses for his bigger harvests and ways to spend his greater wealth. Poor man. He never lived to see the next day.Luk 12:17
In closing, I would like you to keep in mind one essential truth. You are of God. What you do with your life is up to you. In the end you will have to answer to Jesus Christ who will judge this world one day. Your sin has blinded you from seeing God. But Jesus came to open your eyes to see God's Glory.
Jesus said that He knocks at the door of every heart. Rev 3:20 If you will let Him in your heart He will wash your sins with His Blood and present you to His Father so that you will be where you belong in the glory of the Lord our GOD.
It is now up to you.

I suggest a prayer like this:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for convicting my heart and make me realize that I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins. I humbly beg You to forgive me of my sins and wash me with your blood which was shed on the Cross for me. Please come into my heart and transform my life. I promise to live according to your will from this day onwards. Amen.
